Privacy Policy

Summary

Stargate is a personal stargazing logbook. We do not require an account, and we do not collect, sell, or share your personal information. Your observations stay on your device.

What we store

• On your device only: the sightings and goals you create are saved locally on your iPhone using the system's standard storage. They are not uploaded to us.
• No analytics or tracking: the app contains no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.

Optional "Cloud AI" feature

If you turn on Cloud AI in Settings and tap the refine (sparkle) button, the text of that single note is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to a third-party language model to rewrite it. The text is used only to generate the response for that request and is not stored on our server beyond the time needed to process it. If Cloud AI is left off, no note text ever leaves your device.

Data deletion

You can erase all of your sightings and goals at any time from Settings → Reset all data, or by deleting the app.

Children's privacy

Stargate is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
